About the Hanging Scroll Design Concept
When we first encountered Mr. Shibuya’s artwork depicting a rising carp,
we immediately felt that it was perfectly suited to the form of a hanging scroll.
The image of the carp ascending alongside flames conveys a powerful sense of energy,
and we believed it would resonate strongly with bold, vivid mounting fabrics.

For this reason, we chose black fabric as the base—
a color not commonly used in traditional hanging scrolls—
to further amplify the strength and presence of the artwork.
The rising carp has long been familiar in Japan
as a symbol of ambition, success, and advancement in life.
Displayed as contemporary art,
this piece can be enjoyed not only as a modern visual statement
but also as an auspicious interior artwork.
